2008 REGULATIONS

The regulations for the 2008 023 TILES SOUTHERN 4 RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP are as set out below. They can also be downloaded by clicking HERE

2008  REGULATIONS FOR 023 TILES SOUTHERN 4 RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP

1. The 2008 championship will be known as The 023 Tiles Southern 4 Rally Championship, and will consist of the following tarmac stage rallies:
∑ Mar 15/16 - West Cork Rally
∑ May 3/4  - Killarney International Rally of the Lakes
      Jun 29  - Carrick on Suir Raven’s Rock Stages Rally
∑ Sept 27/28 - Cork '20 International Rally
∑ Oct 26  - Skibbereen Fastnet Stages Rally
∑ Dec6/7  – Killarney Historic Rally (Historics Only)

2. Points scoring.
Overall, 2WD, 1600 & Overall Historic: 20, 18, 16, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2 pts for all other finishers and 1 pt to starters.
All other Classes: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2pts for all other finishers and 1 pt to starters.
Only competitors who have registered prior to the event may score on that event. Championship registration fee is EUR €50 per competitor or €80 per crew. Registration may be done at documentation scrutiny or through the registrar (address below).

3. Best 4 scores will count for the championship. Competitors have to start a minimum of three events to qualify for awards. Points scored in one class may not be transferred to another class. Point’s positions will be published and forwarded to all competitors after each event. Queries re same must be referred to the championship registrar within 10 days of such publication.

4. Classes will be as per Motorsport Ireland regulations and comprise of the following:
∑ Class 1 Group N up to 1400 cc
∑ Class 2 Group N 1401 cc to 1600 cc
∑ Class 3 Group N 1601 cc to 2000 cc
∑ Class 4 Group N over 2000 cc
∑ Class 5 Group A up to 1400 cc
∑ Class 6 Group A 1401 cc to 1600 cc
∑ Class 7 Group A 1601 cc to 2000 cc
∑ Class 8 Group A over 2000 cc
∑ Class 9 Modified cars up to 1451 cc 2 wheel drive, normally aspirated.
∑ Class 10 Modified cars 1451 cc to 1650 cc, 2 wheel drive, normally aspirated with not more than 2 valves per cylinder
∑ Class 11 Modified cars 1451 cc to 1650 cc,2 wheel drive, normally aspirated with more than 2 valves per cylinder
∑ Class 12 Modified cars 1651 cc to 2050 cc, 2 wheel drive, normally aspirated with not more than 2 valves per cylinder
∑ Class 13 Modified cars 1651 cc to 2050 cc, 2 wheel drive, normally aspirated with more than 2 valves per cylinder
∑ Class 14 Modified cars 2051 cc to 3500 cc 2 wheel drive, normally aspirated or turbo charged.
∑ Class 15 Per Motor sport Ireland

∑ Class 16 (a) Historic Rally Cars Pre 1967 up to 1650cc
∑ Class 16 (b) Historic Rally Cars Pre 1967 over 1650cc
∑ Class 16 (c) Historic Rally Cars 1967 – 1974 up to 1650cc
∑ Class 16 (d) Historic Rally Cars 1967 – 1974 up to 1650cc
∑ There will also be a junior class in 2007 with awards for 1st,2nd & 3rd
in the Junior class.

Historic Classes are being run in association with the IHCCA

4.1 The "2 Wheel Drive" (2WD) Award" will be given to the highest placed 2WD car in the 2WD standings
4.2 The "1600 award" will be given the highest placed car from either class 1, 2, 5, 6, 9, 10 or 11 in the 1600 standings.
4.3 The overall Historic Award will be given to the highest placed Historic or Post Historic Car in the Overall Historic Standings.

5. Ties will be resolved by reference to the tying competitors results within the General Classification, the category or class where the tie exists by applying tests 5.1 to 5.4 in that order:
5.1 In favour of the competitor with the highest number of highest scores, second highest scores and so on taking into account all rounds of the Championship.
5.2 In favour of the competitor with the highest score in his/her first scoring event.
5.3 In favour of the competitor with the highest position in the Overall Results of his/her first scoring event.
5.4 In favour of the competitor with the highest position in the Overall Results in the first qualifying event in series as run.

6. Awards: 1st Overall, 1St 2WD, 1st 1600, 1st Gp N, 1St Overall Historic plus 1st, 2nd, 3rd in each class.  Overall winners, 1St 2WD, & 1st 1600 award winners not eligible for class awards.

7 Advertising: Competitors will be required to carry advertising as supplied to publicise the championship in accordance with GCR Appendix B Nos 1 and 2 and in order to qualify for points or awards. A total of 3 stickers will be required to be carried: 1 (one) sticker on the right hand side of the car. 1 (one) sticker on the left-hand side of the car. 1 (one) sticker in a forward facing position.

8. Queries arising will be adjudicated upon in the first instance by the championship registrar (listed below) and then by two stewards appointed by the Motorsport Ireland to the championship.

9. The organisers reserve the right to issue additional statements clarifying items in these
Regulations subject to Appendix “A” art. 2.4 of MI Yearbook
