For the third time in as many events the lead in the Thomond Crystal Southern 4 Rally Championship has changed hands again.

Denis Cronin(Impreza),who missed out on the Ravens Rock, is just one point behind Buttimer with Mark Nangle(Impreza) in third having taking second place points in Carrick On Suir.

This is as close a battle as there has ever been and the last two main field events(Cork 20 and Fastnet) should go down to the wire.
There is very little separating the class positions as well so all in all this years battle is turning out to be a thriller.
Denis & Dan Moynihan (Escort) hold the overall lead in the Historic championship on 40 points with Ray Hilliard and Sennan Ragget (Escort) second on 38 and James O Mahony & Paddy McDonell(Volvo 144 s) 3rd on 32 points.Niall O Connell & Johnny Liston(mini) and Martin Sheahan & Arthur Jagoe(Escort) are next in line sharing a score of 29 points.
