An excellent drive by Denis Cronin in his Impreza WRC on the West Cork Hotel Fastnet Rally saw him take the overall win from Melvyn Evans,Niall Maguire,Patrick Elliot and Kevin Barrett also in Impreza WRC's, although it must be said,in far higher spec cars than Cronin.
        This result means that Cronin is the winner of the Thomond Crystal Southern 4 Championship this year.

Historic results are not yet complete as the final round of the Historic Championship will take place on the Kenmare(Killarney) Historic Stages Rally on the 6th of December.

For the third time in as many events the lead in the Thomond Crystal Southern 4 Rally Championship has changed hands again.
John Buttimer(Impreza) takes the lead after scoring 14 points to add to the 25 he gained on the West Cork and Killarney Rally's.
               Denis Cronin(Impreza),who missed out on the Ravens Rock, is just  one point behind Buttimer with Mark Nangle(Impreza) in third having taking second place points in Carrick On Suir.
Nangle is just 5 points behind Cronin with the top 5 being made up by Darragh O Riordan(Clio Super 1600) and John Somers(Celica) respectively .

Helen O Sullivan maintains the lead in the overall navigators standings on 38 points with John McGrath also on 38. Third placed navigator is Declan Buttimer on 37 points with Liam Brennan and Sean McCarthy tied on 32 points each.

This is as close a battle as there has ever been and the last two main field events(Cork 20 and Fastnet) should go down to the wire.
                                                                                                                
There is very little separating the class positions as well so all in all this years battle is turning out to be a thriller.

Congratulations to Liam McCarthy and Kieran Murphy who picked up where they left off last year by winning Round one of the Thomond Crystal Southern 4 Rally Championship,The Quality Hotels West Cork Rally, over the St.Patricks Weekend in Clonakilty.
